By the Bay Health

In May 2015, UCSF Health and Hospice by the Bay, now known as By the Bay Health, formed an alliance with the vision of providing the highest quality hospice and palliative and skilled home health care services to patients and families throughout the Bay Area, including the most vulnerable patient populations. The intent of the affiliation is to create a leading hospice and palliative and skilled home health care delivery program in patients' homes.

Affiliating with organizations such as By the Bay Health, whose specialized services will be increasingly in demand, is critical to UCSF's goal of creating a comprehensive Bay Area network that addresses the multifaceted health care needs of patients and families.

Incorporated in 1975, By the Bay Health is the oldest hospice in California and the second oldest in the United States. Through the joint agreement with UCSF, By the Bay Health remains an independent, nonprofit organization.
